5 Injured In One-Vehicle Accident In Brooklyn
At least five people were injured when a driver fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into a tree in Brooklyn on Wednesday, July 4. The car accident happened at around 7:30 a.m. on Flatbush Avenue. The 21-year-old driver of a black sedan crashed into a tree after he fell asleep. A 24-year-old passenger in the backseat was critically injured and brought to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn. The driver, a 23-year-old male passenger, and two female passengers were also injured and rushed to nearby hospitals. Everyone is expected to survive.
Man Arrested After Killing Coworker In Work Accident
Police have arrested a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred at a Brooklyn warehouse on Saturday, June 30. According to authorities, the suspect accidentally rammed his van into a 32-year-old co-worker, crushing him to death against the wall of a Brooklyn warehouse. Investigators believe the 35-year-old suspect was attempting to park his van on 21st St. near Fourth Ave. in Greenwood Heights when he accidentally jerked forward onto the sidewalk, crushing his coworker.
The suspect has been charged with vehicular manslaughter, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without a license.
Underage Driver of Stolen SUV Causes Accident That Leaves 3 Dead, Several Others Injured
A 15-year-old girl was arrested after causing an accident while driving a stolen SUV on the Long Island Parkway, leaving three dead and six others injured. According to state police, witnesses reported that the SUV was speeding and weaving through traffic before it ran off the road, flipped over several times, and landed in thick brush along the side of the road. Three teenage passengers were killed, and six other passengers were injured – including the driver’s 18-month-old daughter. The girl has been charged with three counts of manslaughter and three counts of criminally negligent homicide.
7 People Injured In 8-Vehicle Wreck In Harlem
At least seven people were injured in an eight-vehicle pileup caused by a speeding driver in Harlem. According to witnesses, the driver of a speeding black Dodge Charger steered the vehicle south on St. Nicholas Ave before running head-on into a green Fiat turning right on St. Nicholas from W. 126th St. at around 4:45 p.m. The Fiat then went spinning into several parked cars between W. 126th and 125th Streets. The driver of the Dodge Charger fled the scene. Seven people were rushed to Harlem Hospital and New York Presbyterian-Columbia Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
